I had an amazing evening at Carnegie Hall enjoying the music of violinist Colin Jacobsen and pianist Bruce Levingston--founder of Premiere Commission, which we design the marketing materials and CD covers for.
The program featured 8 dynamic compositions, 3 of which were new works that premiered the previous week at The Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
My favorite pieces were Sebastian Currier's Digital Mist
, which incorporated electronic riffs of breezes and sighs. The other, Dmitri Yanov-Yanovsky's Passacaglia
, during which Levingston plucked and prodded his piano's strings to create a lingering echo filling me with much anticipation. The performances were truly out of the ordinary from what I would expect at a classical music concert and never failed to have me wonder "what will they do next?!". I'm looking forward to the next one!
