A global movement for all humanity

7billiontile.jpg

We are thrilled to be working with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to help support the recently-launched 7 Billion Actions campaign. With the global population set to hit 7 billion people (!!) late this year, UNFPA is taking the lead by starting a truly collaborative global movement. Partnering with corporations, NGOs, and non-profits around the world, the campaign aims to inspire awareness and action around the issues that impact our global experience - by moving the focus beyond the numbers, to the stories of the 7 billion individuals that share our planet. The entire Ultravirgo team is honored to be part of this historic moment, and look forward to contributing our expertise to the movement.

Impressions + Influences

I had an amazing evening at Carnegie Hall enjoying the music of violinist Colin Jacobsen and pianist Bruce Levingston--founder of Premiere Commission, which we design the marketing materials and CD covers for.

Launching eMatters

ematters.jpg

Today we launched eMatters - a new practice group focused on technology issues within the education system - for long-time client Fagen Friedman & Fulfrost (or F3, as they like to be called). We have been working closely with F3 to launch the new brand, starting with creating the name and tagline, and culminating with the video and email announcement. Taking the theme "Navigating the e-education revolution" we animated the video to visually navigate through the key issues that F3 guides their clients through.

Stadium Tennis Center

stc-tile.jpg

We just launched a new web site for the new Stadium Tennis Center at Mill Pond Park. Working with our long-time clients at Gotham Tennis Academy, this was one of our fastest web sites to date - designed and built in under 3 weeks. But with a large image slideshow header, clearly-organized content, and online registration forms for programs and court reservations, it provides easy access to everything you need to know about the facility. We've also been making some upgrades to the Gotham Tennis Academy web site that we designed as well, so take a look. If you have any interest in tennis, they're the kings in NYC.

Oh, and we have some unused tennis dome graphics from a previous project. Who wants to see a couple of friendly 282' long caterpillars over the East River?

Behance Portfolio

We're hard at work here on a complete update to ultravirgo.com. In the meantime, we've started putting some of our recent portfolio pieces over on the Behance network as well. Go take a look at our profile - you'll find a few of our most recent projects that haven't made it to our own site yet, along with some of our best-known work. And we'll love you forever if you click "Appreciate" on each project, and leave us some comments!

Legolas web site

Since designing "green" is all the rage, we just launched our greenest web site yet for Legolas Media. It includes kelly, hunter, lime and mint. Not to mention our favorite: chartreuse.

New Aging Videos

newagingvideo.jpg

We've been doing a lot of work lately gearing up for the New Aging Conference at UPenn in October (including the web site and this brochure). But I really love what the UPenn students did with these makeover videos: Aging 60 years in 60 seconds.

Impact of Health Reform on Insurance Coverage

Looking to clarify the impact of health reform on insurance numbers, we decided to explain it in a way that we could understand. So we made a graphic.

New Aging Conference

newaging_logo-2.jpg

We just launched the initial materials for the New Aging Conference organized by the University of Pennsylvania and our good friend Matthias Hollwich of HWKN and Architizer fame. Assembling a world-class roster of provocative speakers from various industries, and culminating in a manifesto to reinvigorate the industry, it aspires to spark a new era of elder care. With that in mind, we developed a logo that imagines a "New & Improved!" aging experience and asked participants to imagine " How do you want to live when you are old?" through the brochure and web site. All with the goal of getting society to think beyond the current options; to imagine - and create - our own better future.

Competition Competition

Ever feel like the award juries just don't understand your work, and think you deserve a second chance? If you are an architect, then you now have the second chance you were looking for with Architizer's Competition Competition - a competition to determine the best designs from entries that lost in other competitions. We did the promotional graphics, using a crumpled paper background texture to help inspire architects to pull those losing entries from the recycling bin and give them a chance at redemption!
