Impressions + Influences

I had an amazing evening at Carnegie Hall enjoying the music of violinist Colin Jacobsen and pianist Bruce Levingston--founder of Premiere Commission, which we design the marketing materials and CD covers for.

The program featured 8 dynamic compositions, 3 of which were new works that premiered the previous week at The Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.

My favorite pieces were Sebastian Currier's Digital Mist, which incorporated electronic riffs of breezes and sighs. The other, Dmitri Yanov-Yanovsky's Passacaglia, during which Levingston plucked and prodded his piano's strings to create a lingering echo filling me with much anticipation. The performances were truly out of the ordinary from what I would expect at a classical music concert and never failed to have me wonder "what will they do next?!". I'm looking forward to the next one!
